Description

JOB TITLE: Graduate Management Scheme – Graduate Planner
COMPANY: Avara Foods
SALARY: £26,000
LOCATIONS: Brackley (Northamptonshire)

THE COMPANY:

Avara Foods is one of the UK’s biggest food businesses. It’s a place where great people produce great food, for some of the country’s biggest supermarkets and most popular restaurants.

Formed in 2018, Avara Foods is a joint venture between Cargill’s fresh chicken business in the UK and Faccenda’s fresh chicken, turkey and duck business. Both businesses have operated since the 1960’s. Avara Foods is the 3rd biggest poultry supplier in the UK. The joint venture brings together two businesses with strong reputations for integrity, high standards and building long-term partnerships with customers, growers and suppliers.

What makes Avara Foods different is the people that work there. Over 6,000 individuals work as a team, putting pride and passion into everything they do: from the farm to the customers door. It’s not what we do, but how we do it.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Over three years you’ll spend time working on several different assignments, across a broad range of departments, each offering real responsibility from day one.

You’ll be joining the production department and will rotate around the different business departments and sites to gain maximum exposure to the business. The primary objective in Production is to maintain an effective and efficient process in order to provide quality, fresh and convenient products for a timely dispatch to our customers.

You’ll work closely with the Production Manager to keep track of production information and rework plans where necessary. On a typical day, you’ll be involved in:

• Updating forecasts and plans, and communicating them articulately
• Managing the change in production based on breakdowns or delayed deliveries
• Developing and implementing new plans

We control our whole supply chain from our local British farms, through advanced manufacturing plants, to the final product on the shelf. This ensures that customers receive a safe and secure product, delivered via an excellent service from a transparent and integrated supply chain. You’ll play an important part in this process by working on varied projects focusing on the production processes, quality control, health and safety and team management.

After the first 12 months in a planning role, you’ll work closely with the business to determine your next placement within the graduate scheme. This placement will likely be in another area of the business and will be based on a number of factors such as:

• Preferences and interests
• Skills and strengths
• Career direction
• Availability within the business

It’s up to you to plan and direct your progression with the business, to ensure that you develop your career whilst continuing to add value to Avara Foods.

THE INDIVIDUAL:

Academically, we are looking for CCC (or higher) at A-level and a 2:2 degree (or higher) from a business or science-related background. Other degree types may also be considered. You will also have;

• A strong aptitude for learning
• An organised approach
• Interest in the industry (advantageous)
• A good eye for detail
• Accuracy in your work
• The ability to follow and/or implement processes
• Flexibility to relocate

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:

Investment in people development is a core principle in our culture, ensuring you can learn, grow and have a rewarding career with us. We are a business where our people make the difference every day.

As well as bespoke, on-the-job development, you will also be offered the following learning and development opportunities:

• A structured Induction Programme (Starting on day one)
