Students hoping to land their perfect graduate job after university should try to land a place at the University of Nottingham as they’ve been shortlisted for four awards at the Times Higher Education 2015 Awards.
Prestigious awards
The university has been nominated for Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative, Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development, Outstanding Support for Elderly Career Researchers and Entrepreneurial University of the Year.
John Gill, Editor at Times Higher Education, said the achievements of British universities which transform the lives of students while carrying out pioneering research deserve to be recognised.
Now in its 11th year, the awards received more entries than ever before with officials “delighted” to have strong shortlists of universities which highlight the strength of higher education in the UK.
While the University of Nottingham has done exceptionally well to achieve four nominations it is not the first time that the establishment has celebrated such a big success.
Just last year, a research team led by Professor Harminder Dua was awarded the prestigious Research Project of the Year accolade and made the University of Nottingham an important place of learning.
Fierce competition
To achieve such success again, the University of Nottingham will have to compete against numerous other institutions to take home the prestigious titles.
Those in competition for the Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative category include the University of Leeds, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Portsmouth while the University of Sheffield, Royal Holloway and Birmingham City University have also been shortlisted in the Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development category.
Universities in Aberdeen, Manchester, Surrey and De Montfort form Nottingham’s competition for the Outstanding Support for Early Career Researches Award while those hoping to steal the Entrepreneurial University of the Year Award include the University of Leeds, Loughborough University and the University of Lincoln.
The winners of this year’s awards will be revealed on 26 November at a ceremony hosted at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
